Ned was the son of George W. and Catherine Hood Blessing. He was survived by his wife, the former Addie Fry, a daughter, Sara, brother William and sisters Ann Beall, Helen Eddins and Julia Wasicek. A son, George Highland Blessing, died in 1925.
Ned was a US Army veteran of World War I. He spent 10 months overseas in France. For many years, Ned and family lived in Point of Rocks, Maryland, but at the time he died they lived in Washington DC. For 44 years he worked for the Post Office Department of Railway Transportation. He was a member of the Masons.
