Alyce Rucker English, 88, daughter of the late Creed Haskins Hatcher and Malissa Clark Hatcher, was born Aug. 8, 1904, in Green County and died Sunday, May 16, 1993, at the Jane Todd Crawford Memorial Hospital in Greensburg. She was a member of the South Greensburg Baptist Church. She was married to Owen Rucker on Feb. 10, 1924, who preceded her in death on Jan. 14, 1974. They had two daughters, Julia Judd, Greensburg, and Maxine Moran, Fairdale. She later married Charles English on March 16, 1979, who preceded her in death on March 22, 1991. Besides her daughters, English is survived by five step-children. Louise Wier, Tennessee, Geneva Penick, Bowling Green, Bobby English and Carolyn Hall, both of Summersville, and Margie Simpson, Glasgow; one sister, Nettie Cox, Greensburg; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; 10 step-great-grandchildren; and three step-great-great-grandchildren. Funeral service was at 1 pm Wednesday, May 19 at the Cowherd & Parrott Funeral Home, in Greensburg with burial in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Marshall Eastham officiated. Pallbearers were Bobby English. Bill Owen Penick, Charlie Halt Howard Simpson, Jim Wier and Olen Risen.
