My uncle was employed with the Oakland Scavenger Company for 28 years. He enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening and woodworking in his shop.

He was a veteran of the Army during World War II, serving as a cook at Camp Roberts on the Central California coast. He used to joke that he fought in "the battle of Camp Roberts." Once my mom asked him for some of his recipes. He gave her a couple of them -- they had quantities like "ten pounds of flour." She said, "I can't use these! This is enough to feed an Army!" He replied, "That's the point -- it's what I do!"

He was survived by his wife of 53 years, Rena Coltra Badella; his son, Albert Marino Badella; his sister, Elsie Badella Ratto; and his brother, John Badella.

Son of Michele Badella and Saturlina Badella.
Brother of Rose Graziano, Lidio Badella, Elsie Josephine Badella Ratto, and John Badella.
