Eva Uribe Acosta, 69, of Mabton passed away Monday, May 16, 2005 into the arms of the Lord.

She was born Dec. 28, 1935 in Goliad, Texas to Segundo and Marcelina (Huerta) Uribe. On May 7, 1951 she married Gabriel Acosta in Billings, Mont. Together they made their home in the Lower Valley.

She will always be remembered as a caring and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and mother-in-law.

Eva attended many church services at El Buen Pastor in Sunnyside.

Eva is survived by her husband, Gabriel Acosta; two sons, Rudy Acosta and wife, Lupe, of Spokane and Juan Acosta and wife, Eugenia, of Grandview; two daughters, Beatrice Cardenas and husband, Sam, of Sunnyside and Mary Cardenas and husband, Joe, of Sunnyside; 12 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Trinidad Uribe and Jose Uribe of Ontario, Ore.; and one sister, Maria Cedillo of San Antonio, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by four brothers, Vicente Uribe, Feliz Uribe, Juan Uribe and Felimon Uribe.

Funeral services will be held at the Iglesia Evangelica Fortaleza De Sion, Sunnyside, with burial to follow at Lower Valley Memorial Gardens, Sunnyside.

Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
