James R. Butzer was born March 18, 1925 in Hillsdale, IL, the son of Clarence Butzer and Lillian (Smith) Butzer. He served his country in the Navy during WWII on Canton Island, in the South Pacific, repairing damaged aircraft. Jim ran outdoor amusements for fairs and entertainment. He enjoyed his retirement years talking, trading and restoring Minneapolis-Moline tractors.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Butzer, Cordova; daughter, Lisa (Jeff) Butler, Cordova; sons, Gail (Tami) Dillin, Erie, Larry Dillin, Edwardsville, IL; 6 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and a sister, Phyllis Wolever, Erie. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Jamie and a brother, Roger.
