FUNERAL SERVICES FOR MADGE V. MCCUE FORMER GRANT RESIDENT
Funeral services for Madge V. Bacon, 48, who died at her home in Sedalia, Missouri last Friday morning were held Sunday in the Methodist Church at Grant with the Rev. and Mrs. Ernest McAninch in charge.
Mrs. Bacon’s death came after a year’s illness. The Ewing funeral home in Sedalia brought the body from Sedalia to Grant. Mr. Ewing was assisted by the Wolfe Funeal Home of Villisca.
Pall bearers at the funeral were Donald Basil and Loyal Norcorss, Fred Focht, Paul Breeling, and Raymond Dallenger. Miss Helen Blackburn sang, accompanied at the piano by her sister, Lois and burial was in the Grant Cemetery.
Mrs. Bacon was born at Grant in December 27, 1891 in Grant, Iowa and was married to Clyde Nelson in Red Oak in July 15, 1909. Two children were born to them, Darleen, now a resident of Scotts Bluff, Nebraska and Paul who died in infancy. Mr. Nelson died in 1918.
The deceased married Clyde B. Bacon in January 31, 1923 at Grant. Shortly after their marriage the couple moved to Sedalia, Missouri. Mr. Bacon died in January, 1940.
The deceased is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Maris M. McCue, Grant, her daughter, Mrs. Darleen Gamble and one grandson, Don Maris of Scotts Bluff.

McCue, born in Lancaster County, Pennsylavania and Bessie Ashbaugh born in Grant, Iowa. She was married to Clyde Bacon, deceased (married January 31, 1923 in Grant, Montgomery County, Iowa). She died September 5, 1941 at 1:45 a.m. in Sedalia, Pettis County, Missouri, cancer of the uterus, metastised to bladder and stomach. She was buried September 7, 1941 in Grant Cemetery, Grant, Iowa, informant was her daughter, Mrs. Darlene Gamble, 1239 4th Ave, Scotts Bluff, Nebraska. She was also married to Clyde H. Nelson on July 15, 1909 in Red Oak, Montgomery County, Iowa
