Johnstown Daily Tribune, February 27, 1894:

BARKLEY - In Roxbury, Upper Yoder Township, on Tuesday, February 27,1894, at 8 o'clock, a.m., MARY, wife of Robert Barkley, aged about 60 years. Mary, wife of Mr. Robert Barkley, formerly City Weighmaster, now of Roxbury, Upper Yoder Township, died at her residence on Roxbury avenue, at 8 o'clock Tuesday morning, of paralysis. She had been ailing for the past two years, being confined to her bed since last August. Mrs. Barkley was about sixty years of age, and was a daughter of Michael Barnhart, deceased. She was born near the place where she died and spent most of her life in that neighborhood. Beside her husband, she is survived by seven children, viz., William and H. G. of Fifth Ward; Mrs. Joseph Sharp, of Roxbury; Mrs. Russell Stutzman, of the Seventeenth Ward; Emerson, John, and Dollie, at home. Mrs. Barkley was a member of Trinity Evangelical Church, and was in every way a most Estimable woman. The funeral took place at 2 o'clock yesterday afternoon, Rev. A. J. Beale conducting the obsequies. Interment was made in Grand View Cemetery.
