Catherine "Sis" Cooney Blackburn, 88, died Wednesday at Candler hospital. She was born in Savannah and was a housewife. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and graduate of St Vincent's Academy. She was a member of Golden Age Club on Tybee Island and a life member of the senior citizens. She lived at Tybee Island for many years before moving to Savannah in 1956. Surviving are a daughter, Betty Blackburn Nilsson of Savannah; seven grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral mass: 10AM today at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, burial in Catholic Cemetery. Lester L. Hayman Funeral Home.
