MRS. HARRIET C. BALLARD LEFT FIVE GREAT GRANDCHILDREN.
Widow of Man Who Formerly Owned Much Real Estate on the South Side – Member of the Wesleyan Church For More than Half a Century.
Mrs. Harriet C. Ballard, a resident of the South Side for more than sixty years and a member of the Wesleyan Methodist church for more than half a century, died at 2 A.M. to-day at her home at No. 1463 South Salina st.
Mrs. Ballard's husband was once the holder of a great amount of real estate on the South side and she had seen that section of the city built up from the country. The development of the trolley and interurban systems, the telephones and most of the manufacturing had been watched by her.
Among Mrs. Ballard's survivors are fourteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Other survivors are three sons: William J., Stephen G. and Alfred H., and one daughter, Mrs. Charles Champlain of this city. The funeral will be held from her late home on Thursday at 2:30 P.M.
