Agness Calcote, 77, of Brookhaven, died there June 30, 2009, at Silver Cross Nursing Home.
Visitation is 5 to 9 tonight at Wilson Funeral Home in Monticello. Services are 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery in Sontag.
Mrs. Calcote was born Aug. 30, 1931, in Mississippi. She was the daughter of William Alva Smith and Lessie Lee Hoff.
She was a retired registered nurse and former licensed practical nursing instructor at Copiah-Lincoln Community College. She received her LPN degree from Co-Lin, her RN from Southwest Mississippi Community College and her bachelor of science degree from William Carey College. She was a member of Nola Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Julian Calcote; and brothers, Frankie Joe and Ben Kyzar.
Survivors include a son, Johnny Boyte of Monticello; a daughter, Linda Williams of Rankin County; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
