BIO: OVA MAE HILL:
Ova was the eight child and fifth daughter of Rachel Jane (Kimberling) Hill and Enoch Hill. She was born May 8, 1883, near Cottonwood Falls, Kansas. She grew to womanhood near Nickerson, Kansas. She married James William Brooks on December 22, 1898. James was a brother of Flora (Brooks) Hill, who married Odus Grant Hill. Their entire married life was spent on the Brooks family farm west of Nickerson, Kansas. James William Brooks was born, lived and died on this farm. After the death of her husband on November 21, 1953, Ova Mae moved to Wichita, Kansas, to be close to two of her daughters who lived there. She died Feburary 22, 1963 at Wichita, Kansas. She and her husband are both buried in Memorial Park Cemetery, west of Hutchinson, Kansas. Ova and "Bill" were the parents of five children:
