After his service, he became a bi-vocational, ordained Free Will Baptist minister---he worked at different jobs that allowed him to have flexible time. He retired from the Kern Co. School District, in the 1970's.
He married Virgie (unk) before 1930, and they had a long marriage, but had no children.
He became pastor of Selma Church, and Porterville for several years, then at Earlimart for about a decade. Each place saw progress under his leadership.
Rev. Woolery was a kind and generous man, soft spoken, and he usually thought before he spoke. He loved and supported his church's doctrines, and preached them. His wisdom was useful to many of his peers and friends.
