Calvin Mander was twenty-nine and Lilla Brown was sixteen when they married on January 15, 1938.

The 1940 census revealed Calvin was a farmer and worked 52 weeks for an income was $580. They rented their home for $5.00 a month in Palmyra, Wayne County, New York. Calvin was born in Ohio and had a six grade education. Lillia was born in New York and had a tenth grade education. Household members: Calvin Mander (32), Lilliathe (18), Charles (1) and Elmer (10/12).

{{Calvin Mander - Savannah - Calvin "Dutch" Mander, 80, RD 1, Savannah, died today (Oct.12) at Newark - Wayne Community Hospital following a long illness.

Friends may call from 7-9 pm Thursday and from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm Friday at the Colvin Funeral Home in Savannah.

Funeral will be at 11 am Saturday at the funeral home with burial in Butler-Savannah Cemetery.

Mr. Mander was born in Ironton, Ohio and lived in Savannah most of his life. He retired from Ross and DiSanto Farms.

Surviving are his wife, Lilla Brown Mander; Charles of Utica and George of Savannah; three daughters, Mrs. Nancy Bennett of Clyde, Mrs. Doris Gonyeau of Utica and Mrs. Wava Sampson of Savannah; several grand children and great grand children; four brothers, Wilbur of Marion, John of Almyra, Arthur of Florida and Fred of New Mexico; three sisters, Mrs.. Alma Banden Beckins, of Newark, Mrs. Cora Ford of Lyons and Mrs. Mary Heald of Newark; and nieces and nephews.
