Ruth A. Airgood of 25 Clarksville St., Greenville, formerly of Mercer, died at 1:15 a.m. Friday (10-31-08) in Woodland Place, Coolspring Township, after an extended illness. She was 68.
Mrs. Airgood was born Nov. 10, 1939, in Mercer to Charles and Lula M. Furey Amon.
She attended Mercer schools.
Mrs. Airgood had worked at Nugent Convalescent Home in Hermitage until becoming disabled in 1982. She had also worked at Hospitality Care Center of Hermitage.
She was of the Protestant faith.
Ruth enjoyed ceramics and spending time with her grandchildren.
Her husband, Charles J. Airgood, whom she married March 2, 1959, preceded her in death Sept. 12, 1990.
Surviving are: two daughters, Mrs. Robert (JoAnn) McHugh, Sandy Lake; and Deborah Bobbert, Volant; two sons, Charles J. Airgood, Hadley; and Daniel A. Airgood and his wife Jackie, Greenville; seven grandchildren; and five sisters, Marie "Nodie" Dunkerly, Sharpsville; Bonnie Leager, Greenville; Mrs. Larry (Barbara Jo) McCurdy, Jamestown; Mrs. Samuel (Linda) Korbini, Greenville; and Mary Jane Foster, Lake Alfred, Fla.
Besides her husband, Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Jessie Mae Vanarsdal and Marion Amon; and six brothers, Fred, Richard, Charles, John, George and James Amon.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to the family in care of the funeral home.

Calling hours: Noon to time of service Monday (11-3-08) in SCOTT A. BLACK FUNERAL HOME, 99 Franklin St., Stoneboro.
Service: Funeral and committal service at 2 p.m. Monday in the funeral home with the Rev. Jeffrey M. Harter, chaplain of Family Hospice and Palliative Care, Hermitage, officiating.
Interment: Findley Township Cemetery.
