Carrol Joyce Williams, 67, of Bedford was called home to be with the Lord on Wednesday December 26, 2012. She was born June 28, 1945 in Imler, a daughter of the late Carl E. and Grace (Nunamaker) Gibson.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years Ralph E. Williams whom she married on September 19, 1962 in Cumberland, MD. In addition to her husband, she is survived by Five children; Ralph Jr. married to the former Ginger Douglas of Bedford; Tina married to Charles Troutman Jr. of New Paris; Steve married to the former Nancy Wolfe of Osterburg; Sandy married to William Showalter III of Edgewater, MD and Susie married to Jeff Davidson of Everett. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, one great grandson, one sister Mary Parson married to Jerry Parson of Rosine, KY; and two brothers, John Gibson married to Rita Gibson and Ronnie Gibson both of New Jersey, two step-sisters; Marie Brown of New Paris and Betty Carson of MD. Carrol is a member of the Point Church of the Brethren in Schellsburg, but for the past 10 years attended Woodbury Church of the Brethren in Woodbury. For 12 years, Carrol was employed by Home Nursing Agency as a caregiver and worked with hospice patients. Her loving and giving nature led to the purchase of Carrol's Rest Home which has been owned and operated by Ralph and Carrol for 23 years. Carrol enjoyed taking care of others, cooking for her grandchildren and traveling with her friend, Sue Rose. Carrol adopted a special dog named Buster, which gave her much joy. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel at Timothy E. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford with Pastor Larry Graybill officiating. Burial will be held at Fishertown Cemetery. Friends will be received on Friday from 2-4 and from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
