Flora Lee slipped from the arms of her loving family into the arms of her loving God on Thurs., Dec. 20, 2012 from complications of Alzheimer's. On March 3, 1934 in Spokane, WA, Flora Lee was born the third of four children to Clifford and Esther Garber. The family moved to Vancouver, WA in 1943 when she was nine years old. She attended Lincoln and Lieser Elementary Schools, McLoughlin Junior High School, and graduated from Vancouver High School in 1951.
In her sophomore year at VHS, she met the love of her life and future husband, Gaylon Dacus. They were married June 1, 1951, one week before she graduated.
She retired from the Port of Vancouver in 1995.
A celebration of Flora Lee's life will be held Fri., Dec. 28, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Fourth Plain Church of the Nazarene, 16807 E. Fourth Plain Blvd., Vancouver, WA.
The family has requested that remembrances be made to the Gideons International in order for Bibles to be placed in Flora Lee's memory.
