‘Mac' McFarland
The funeral service for former cleaning and restoration company owner and operator Charles Owen "Mac" McFarland of Paris will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Ridgeway Funeral Home.
Clyde Sulcer and Larry McFarland will officiate. Burial will follow in Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday and after 9 a.m. Friday.
McFarland, 81, died Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012, at his residence.
A son of the late Robert Newton McFarland and Mattie Bell Edging McFarland, he was born Jan. 5, 1931, in Paris.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Paris Branch and an international square dance caller.
He formerly owned and operated several cleaning and restoration companies, such as some ServiceMaster franchises. He was former comptroller for Stillwell Foods in Oklahoma, sold insurance for the John Hancock company and in Paris, owned a trash collecting service and sold real estate for Bass Realty. All of his occupations came after he retired from the U.S. Air Force.
He leaves four daughters: Ann (Peter) Allen of Paris, Laurie (Troy) Johnson of Idaho, and Trish (Paul) Trcka and Evette (Lee) Conatser, both of Texas; two sons: Thomas (Jennifer) Mikeska of Paris and Harold Grant McFarland of Colorado; his former wife: Jerry McFarland of Paris; 18 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
He also was preceded in death by a son: Edgar David "Eddie" McFarland; four sisters; eight brothers; and two great-grandchildren.
