Virginia Montour, age 80, a resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away on December 20, 2012 at her home in Albuquerque, NM.
Virginia was born on March 22,1932 in Ojitos Frios, New Mexico, to the late Filimon Montaño and Eligia Barreras-Montaño.
Virginia grew up and was raised in Romeroville, New Mexico, but has been a longtime resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico where she was also a member of the Assembly of God Church. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Filimon Montaño and Eligia Barreras-Montaño and brothers, Leroy Montaño, Estevan Montaño, Eugenio Montaño and Max Montaño. Virginia is survived by her daughters, Gloria Muñoz and her husband, José of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Norma Delayo and her husband, Robert of Albuquerque, New Mexico and sons, Robert Montour and his wife, Delia of Texas and Angelo Montour and his wife, Darlene of Los Lunas, New Mexico. Virginia is survived by her eleven grandchildren, twenty eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Virginia is also survived by her siblings, Carmen Montaño, Tillie Montaño, Isabel Gallegos all of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Leo Montaño and his wife, Frances of Romeroville, New Mexico and Adam Montaño and his wife, Betty of Las Vegas, New Mexico and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, December 27, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Rogers Chapel in Las Vegas, NM. Interment will follow at La Manga Cemetery in La Manga, New Mexico with the following serving as Casket Bearers, MSGT Juan Muñoz, Isaac Montour, Jose Muñoz Jr., Hector Aranda, Eli Montour, Alfred Gonzáles and Robert Delayo.
