Mary Eiza Minnie Hope was born 1858, Syracuse, NY, to Fletcher Hope and Eliza Grant Hope of England and Syracuse.One of seven children,at the age of 7, Minnie lost her mother, Eliza, to consumption. Her grandparents, John & Elizabeth Boots Grant often cared for her after her mother's death. She became a dressmaker like her older sister, Elizabeth Lizzie Hope. Minnie met and married Arthur M. Burnett, a carriage trimmer. They had one son, Harold Miles Burnett (1883-1971). In about 1886, Arthur and Mary and their young son relocated to Chicago, IL. In April 1941, Mary Eliza Hope Burnett, a widow, was living on Green St. at the time of her death at age 83. Her husband, Arthur M. Burnett, is buried in Oak Woods.
