Benjamin Adkins


Benjamin Owen Adkins, 62, Franklin, Ohio, former Bloomington resident, died Wednesday evening in the Franklin Hospital.

Mr. Adkins was born in Bloomington on May 1, 1900, the son of Charles G. and Sarah J. Adkins. He moved to Franklin 20 years ago.

He was a member of the Harmony Church of Christ, where he had taught Sunday School.

Survivors include his wife, Frances, Franklin; his mother, Mrs. Sarah Adkins, Bloomington; two daughters, Mrs. Alta Phipps, Franklin, and Mrs. Better Phillips, Salt Lake City, Utah; one son, Weir Adkins, Calif., seven grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Olive Troth, Indianapolis, and Mrs. Bertha Sanders, Mrs. Bessie Hodson, and Mrs. Mary Chapin, all of Bloomington; three brothers, William Adkins, Bloomington, Harold Adkins, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and Wally Adkins, Indianapolis. His father and two brothers preceded him in death.

Funeral will be 3 p.m. Saturday in the Harmony Church will burial in the Harmony Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Ralph and Gene Davis, Samuel Freeman, Raymond Martin, Michael Demshar, and Harold McArtor. Flower bearers will be Connie and Carol Jean Davis and Wilma and Carolyn Freeman.
