Mrs. Fuqua was born on Thursday, June 28, 1923 in Liberty, AL, to the late Glen and Mary Shelton Redus. She was a member of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She worked as a payroll clerk at MossTie, and later owned and operated Fuqua Brothers Grocery Store on Military Road. Mrs. Fuqua was a talented seamstress, she loved working outdoors in her yard and flower beds and had a green thumb for growing things. She was a loving mother and grandmother and enjoyed attending family reunions. She enjoyed riding with her son on his Commercial Dispatch route #59, and visiting with all the people they came in contact with. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years Cyril L. Fuqua, her brothers Toxie Huelett Redus and Banks Redus.
Survivors include: One Daughter: Gwendolyn Fuqua Deal (Harry). The Woodlands, TX
One Son: Cyril Victor "Vic" Fuqua (Sarah), Millport, AL
One Brother: Dwight Denman Redus (Shirley), Lakeland, FL Three Grandchildren: Jeralyn Suzanne Powney (Simon), Starkville, MS Jamie Elizabeth Catinat (Gilles), Les Sourgeres, France Adam Sanders Fuqua, Martin, TN
Five Great Grandchildren: Matthieu, Jonathon, and Andrew Catinat Jackson, and Emma Powney
