Linda was born on June 8, 1956, and she left this life on Dec. 15, 2012, with all her children, grandchildren and loved ones by her side. She was born in Muskogee, to Emma Jean Cormack, and lived there during her teen years, with her cousin Beverly and other friends, until she graduated high school. After graduating from Muskogee High, she met and married Richard E. Tannehill, of Wagoner. They married on May 14, 1965. During their marriage they had three children. Linda had various jobs throughout her life. She spent a lot of time working in collections for various banks and loan companies. She helped manage the Double B BBQ in Tahlequah when it opened, and shortly after that she wanted to pursue a college degree. She attended NSU and obtained a double bachelor's degree in psychology and sociology. While working on those degrees she was employed at Children's Meeting House Montessori School in Tahlequah, where she was the Director of Food Services. There she supervised the cooks and kept track of inventory and expenses. She was wonderful at involving the children in food preparation, serving and clean-up, which is an important aspect of Montessori life, which she incorporated into her daughter Sally and all her grandkids' lives as well. After graduating from NSU, Linda went to work for Children's Christian Fund in Tahlequah, where she was the Executive Director. She named the facility "Kid Connections," and worked very hard to make it more than just a place in the community for less fortunate children to get a sponsor throughout their childhood. She involved the community and did grant writing to expand the facility and offer other services, such as SOS, parenting classes, clothing donation, after school computer labs, a facility for community events involving the family and a safe place in the community for the children after school. She loved her job, both at the Montessori school, and at Kid Connections. She was no longer able to work after she found out she was sick, so she settled into a life of doing arts and crafts, which she loved, making wreathes and cooking, baking cakes and having get togethers at her house for different occasions. One of her favorite times of the year was Halloween, when she would have pizza, pumpkin seeds, soda and candy for all her little goblins before they went trick or treating. While she was going to school she met her life partner, John Rubison. They lived together for 20 years and did many things together. She loved to go fishing, and she and John would often go to his hometown for weekends of fun and fishing. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren very dearly and spent as much time as she could with them, making up fairy tale stories with characters and places that still exist in all our minds. She was preceded in death by her cousin, Beverly Cagle, who was like her sister; her mother, Emma Jean Cormack; grandparents, Joe and Bessie King; uncle, Donald King; and aunt, Renee Cagle. She had a full life of her favorite music, Leon Russell, Stevie Ray Vaughn and local artist and friend, Randy Crouch. She loved going to the creek, and some of her favorite times were spent at the Boy Scout Hole in Welling.
