Funeral services were conducted Sunday, February 9, at 3:00 p.m. in First United Methodist Church for Mrs. C.V. Brown, 64.
The Rev. Rollo Davidson, pastor, officiated. He was assisted by the Rev. DeWitt Seago and the Rev. J.V. Patterson.
Burial was in Shamrock Cemetery under the direction of Richerson Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Johnny Copeland, James Douglas, Dale Wells, Robert Trostle, Sandy Rothwell, Jack Brown, Odas Benson and James Reneau.
Honorary Pallbearers were John Glasscock, Pat Bradley, Johnie Burrell, H.C. Weatherby, Jess Pennington, Rayburn Smith, James Murry and Chester Tindall.
Mrs. Brown died Thursday, February 6, in St. Anthony's Hospital in Amarillo.
Born April 2, 1910, Mrs. Brown had been a resident of Wheeler County since 1925. She and her husband, C.V. Brown, operated the Methodist Camp in Ceta Canyon from 1968 to 1973.
Mrs. Brown and her husband owned and operated an automatic laundry at Lela for a number of years prior to managing the Ceta Canyon camp.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband: a daughter, Mrs. Taylor Douglas of Blackwell, four sons: Doyle of Hershey, Neb; Wendell of Chillicothe; Jerry, 4705 South Fannin, Amarillo; and Donnie, 1118-C S. Caroline, Amarillo; two brothers; J.D. Seago, Santa Clara, California; and Floyd Seago, Denver, Colorado.
