He was the son of Frances Commodore Church and Sarah Elvira Yates.

OBITUARY:
Claude Greeley Church, 70, Benton City, died November 29, 1973 in Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital. Mr. Church spent most of his life in the Lower Yakima Valley. Mr. Church was born in Riley, North Carolina. He lived in Benton City eight years and was a retired logger.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Hettie Church, Benton City; a daughter, Mrs. JoAnn Barnett, Mt. Pleasant, TN; four sons, Vernon, Myrtle Creek, OR; Claude, Sunnyside, and Jim and Kenneth, Yakima. Other survivors are a step-daughter, Anna Mae Church, Benton City; two step-sons, Fred Robinson, Benton City, and Lawrence Robinson, North Carolina; a sister, Mrs. Ruth Hawthorne, Prosser; two brothers, Ernest, Benton City; and Les, North Carolina; and 40 grandchildren.
