Wilbur Brice Chapman, 82, also known as Dick Chapman to his many friends, of 932 N. Court St., Ottumwa died Dec. 7, 2012, at Bloomfield Care Center in Bloomfield, where he had been for the past three months.

He was born Nov. 5, 1930, in Lewistown, MO, to Argel Brice and Roxie Mary Lewis Chapman.

He married Betty Jo Miller on Feb. 14, 1950. They later divorced, and he married Shirley Bogle Rash on July 3, 1964. He graduated from Lewistown High School in 1949. He lived in Ottumwa for 45 years and was a house painter for 38 years.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley; seven sons, Keith(Gloria)Chapman of Stafford, VA, Kenneth(Regina)Chapman of LaBelle, MO, Michael(Paula)Chapman of Ewing, Mo, Johne(Margaret)Chapman of Kearney, MO, Joel(Nancy)Chapmen of Greenwood, Mo, Scott(Michelle)Chapmen of Ottumwa and Steve(Bethany)Chapman of Chadds Ford, Pa; one daughter, Cassandra(Chris)Woodward of Marion; 16 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

His body has been cremated, and no services are planned. Robertson-Jay Funeral Home is in charge of Arrangements.
