Anna Bertha Grunert was born Feb 26, 1868 to Carl (Charles) Frederick Augusta and Bertha Grunert (nee Werner/Wehner) in Saxony, Germany, likely Mittweida about 10 miles North of Chemnitz . Anna came to the US as a child on May 27, 1873 aboard the ship "City of Limerick" landing in New York. By 1876 she was living in Milwaukee, when her sister was born. She became a US Citizen in 1891. On Feb 4, 1896 she married George T Brandau in Milwaukee. She had at least 5 children:
