Socorro was the daughter of James Annis Lafferty and Martina Martinez. She was the wife of U.S. Army SSG Hilario Hernandez. The date on her stone correspond with the date on a birth certificate that she was able to obtain. I believe the birth registration to be that of her sister Olga Lafferty who died as an infant.
Socorro Jimme Lafferty is on the 1930 Mexican census as being 8 moths old. Giving her correct date of birth as 15 Sep 1929. Her name on the census was in her father's hand writing. Jim Lafferty or "Santiago" as he went by in Mexico is not listed as living in the home with Martina and her family and is not listed at all in the census. Jim Lafferty was in New Mexico attending the funeral of his son when the census taker came around to the ranch Casa de Piedras where he was living 1 Jun 1930.
