Edna M. Ambrose, 90, a resident of Westmoreland Manor, Hempfield Township, formerly of Laughlintown and Ligonier, died Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2001, at the manor. She was born Dec. 30, 1910, in Ligonier Township, a daughter of the late Edward and Marie (Johnson) Matson.

Edna was a member of St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church, Ligonier, the Willing Workers Sunday School Class of the church, the Laughlintown Senior Citizens Center and the Ligonier VFW Women's Auxiliary.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry W. Ambrose; two sisters, Margaret Matson and Esther Graham; and five brothers, Ernest, Arthur, Carl, George and Richard Matson.

She is survived by her son, H. Edward Ambrose and his wife, Beverly, of Latrobe; two grandsons, Keith Ambrose and Kevin Ambrose and his wife, Anna; four great-grandchildren, Clint, Cassie, Paul and Michael Ambrose; her brother, Roy Matson and his wife, Esther, of Latrobe; and a number of nieces and nephews.
