Word was received here yesterday that the death of Miss Effie Sterling had occurred at three o'clock on Thursday morning, at the home of her sister, Mr. C. H. Nichols at St. Paul, where she had been taken two weeks ago. Last week a slight improvement in her condition was reported, but she had been failing for several months so that the end was not unexpected. The deceased was well known here, being born at Elysian, August 8, 1867, and had lived in the community all of her life. The remains will be brought from St. Paul to Elysian today, and the funeral will be held from the home northwest of town.
