Nelson Edward Lubik Sr. age 79, currently of Milford, entered into rest with the lord on June 29, 2005 at the Jewish Home for the Elderly in Fairfield. He is was born in Bridgeport to the late Vincent and Ella Lubik before recently moving to Milford. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was retired from People to Places/GBTA Access where he drove and assisted many who were disabled for more than 15 years. He served as a coach and Equipment manager for the Park City Little League for 30 years; he also coached for eight years with the North End Little League of Bridgeport. A score keeper for the now Bullard Havens Regional Technical School for four years. A graduate of Harding High school class of 1944 he was active throughout his life in Bridgeport helping children in sports and anyone who came across his path. Nelson was the husband of his beloved wife, Glennis Ann Lubik whom he shared the past 32 years of his life with, Along to his wife he is survived by his sons, Nelson Lubik Jr., Vincent Lubik, David Lubik, Robert Lewis Jr., John Lewis Sr.; and his daughters, Barbara Rapoza, Deborah Tedesco, Linda Lubik, Gail Brooks, Ellen List, Sherri Knapp and Susan Tartaglia; his brother Vincent W. Lubik Jr; his sisters, Evelyn Denton and Arlene Kiley; 20 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews relatives and friends; and we cannot forget his faithful pal, his dog, Ozzie. He was predeceased by former wife, Ruth Lubik; and his son, Richard Lewis Jr. Truly a great man whom will be sadly missed. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 2, 2005 beginning at 10 a.m. at the Funeraria Luz de Paz 426 E. Washington Avenue, Bridgeport, followed by interment in Lakeview Cemetery; Friends are invited to attend calling hours on Friday (Today) July 1, 2005 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
