BARBARA ANN (GROVER) BLUMER

Barbara Ann Blumer was born in Pasco, Washington, on January 31, 1954, to Dona (Klein) and Charles (Buster) Grover. She passed away at home with family and friends after a courageous fight with cancer.
Barb was raised in the Pasco area, and graduated from Pasco High in 1972. She met and married the love of her life, Steven Blumer, in Kennewick on December 1, 1978, and together they raised Barb's daughter Christine. On December 1st they celebrated their 30 year anniversary in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Barb loved her friends and family with unconditional love. She had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to play practical jokes. She loved having her granddaughters Bridget and Emma come to visit. She loved to browse yard sales, second had stores and shopping. She loved visiting and entertaining people, taking the neighbor kids swimming and was a connoisseur of wine.
When anyone called and needed a hand, she was there; didn't make any difference how big or how little the project was, she was there. Barb will be missed by her family and the friends she touched throughout her life.
Barb is survived by husband, Steven; daughter, Christine (Marple) Dickerson and husband Rob; granddaughters, Bridget and Emma of Everett, Washington; mother, Dona (Klein) Grover of Carson, Washington; brother, Charles Grover (Chuck) and Sue of Kennewick; and son, Charles III and wife Autum, Tara (Hanes) Repp and family of Roy, Washington; and mother-in-law, Marian Personett of Kennewick; father-in-law, Vern Blumer and wife Marilouise of Apache Junction Arizona; sister Pam Blumer and husband Ron Martin of Kennewick; and aunts, Pat Snyder and Ginger Johnson of Freemont, Nebraska; and close friend and caregiver Evette Price and husband Christian of Pasco, Washington; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her father, Charles (Buster) Grover; sister, Dixie (Grover); and brother-in-law, Fred Hanses.
In Lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Hospice, 2108 W. Entiat, Kennewick, Washington 99336. The family sends special thanks to Hospice and to Peggy Kasper and Evette Price for their special care of Barb.
Memorial services will be held at the "In Step Church" 201512 East Finley Road, Kennewick, Washington, off Chemical Drive, below the Fairgrounds, on Tuesday February 17, 2009, at 1:00 p.m.
