JAMES L. DIETRICH, PAST MASTER OF HARMONY LODGE, DIES

James Lowell Dietrich, 52, active in Masonic circles, died at 6:45 p.m. Thursday in his residence, 137 E. Court St., shortly after collapsing of a heart attack. Dietrich was pronounced dead on arrival of the Urbana Fire Department emergency squad.
A native of Mercer County, Dietrich was born July 22, 1907, a son of James W. and Dessie Redman Dietrich.
He was a past master of Harmony Lodge No. 8, F. and A. M.; past high priest of Urbana Chapter No. 34, Royal Arch Masons; past illustrious master of Urbana Council No. 59, Royal and Select Masters; past commander of Raper Commandery No. 19, Knights Templar; a knight of the York Cross of Honor, Ohio Priory No. 18; and a member of Scioto Consistory of Scottish Rite of Columbus, and Alladin Temple Shrine of Columbus.
Dietrich was a veteran of World War II, having served as a gunners mate on the USS Take in the United States Navy.
Survivors include his widow, Kathryn L.; his mother, Mrs. Dessie Dietrich, of Spencerville; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Burnett and Mrs. Frances Bendure, of Spencerville; and two brothers, Russell and Wilbur Dietrich, of Lima.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday in the Humphreys and Son Co. Funeral Home by the Rev. Edward H. Orinson, of Springfield, former pastor of the Messiah Lutheran Church here. Burial will be in Oak Dale Cemetery.
Harmony Lodge will conduct services in the funeral home at 7:30 p.m. Sunday. Friends may call at the funeral home after noon Saturday.
