Anthony M. "Hoppy" Apostolico, of Newark, passed suddenly at his home on Tuesday, April 26, 2005. He was 60.

Mr. Apostolico was a quality controller at General Motors for 27 years. Hoppy was a native of Wilmington having graduated from Salesianum High School in 1962. He enjoyed golf, spending time with his buddies at Porky Oliver and teaching his son Anthony the game he loved. His most cherished moments were spent enjoying Sunday dinners with his entire family at home. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Judy L. Apostolico; his children, James V. and his wife, Helen, of Hockessin; Daniel P. and his wife, Tonja, of Smyrna, Carla Soutar and her husband, Jamie, of Newark, Carol Ann of Eugene, Ore., and Anthony Jr. at home; sisters, Ann DiTrolio and her husband, Salvatore, of Havertown, Pa., Mary Sklodowski of Wilmington, and Theresa Burchett and her husband, Drew, of Townsend; seven grandchildren, Maria, Anthony, Hannah, Gabriella, Dante, Cassidy and Bianca; and many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial was offered on May 2 at St. John the Baptist R.C. Church, Newark. Burial was in Cathedral Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be sent to Salesianum High School, 18th and Broom streets, Wilmington, DE 19802.
