DAVENPORT - John J. Connell, Davenport, passed away at his home Tuesday, March 4, 2003, after an extended illness. He was born in Iowa City on April 8, 1964, the son of Jack F. and Rosemary (Parris) Connell. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church, Moline. Mr. Connell was a NASCAR fan and enjoyed collecting eagles and volunteering his days helping family and friends. Survivors include his mother, Rosemary King, Davenport; two brothers, Danny Connell, Davenport, and Michael Connell, residing in Illinois; sister, Holly Mobley, Corpus Christi, Texas; three nieces, Danette Barber, Davenport, Hope Jones, Davenport, and Jennifer Connell, residing in Illinois; a nephew, Jason Connell, residing in Illinois; and six grandnieces and grandnephews, Makayla, Xavior, Quame, Zareion, Kionna and Devon. A private family memorial service, with Pastor Stan Gustafson officiating, will be held. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park.
