Gross Funeral Due Friday

Funeral services will be held for Andrew Jackson Gross, 85, at 2 p.m. Friday at the Victory Memorial Methodist Church with Rev. Therman Harris, pastor of the church, and Rev. Dan P. Tyson, superintendent of missions for the Baptist church officiating.

Interment will be in Elmhurst Cemetery, under the direction of the Howlett Funeral Home. Friends may call at funeral home at any time until 1 p.m. Friday.

Gross, a well-known retired Texas county farmer died at his home in Guymon, Tuesday following a lingering illness.

The son of Mr. & Mrs. Charles Gross, he was born near Three Rivers, Mich. September 5, 1870. On January 4, 1895, he was married to Mary Katherine Boone at Garden City, Mo. Last January they observed their 61st wedding anniversary. In 1907 Mr. and Mrs. Gross came to Texas county and filed on a claim six miles east and a mile and a half south of Guymon, where they lived until 12 year ago when they moved to Guymon.

He is survived by his wife, one son, Otis, and two daughter, Mrs. Ethel Reid, and Mrs. Gladys Moore, all of Guymon, 13 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
