Born in Greenville, he was a son of the late O.W. and Margaret Trammell Chandler. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was the owner and operator of Office Products Inc. He was the former owner of Greenville Office Supply Co. Inc. Mr. Chandler was a member of Northgate Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife of 24 years, Sara F. Chandler; a daughter, Melissa O. Egan, of Greer; two sons, Rick R. Chandler and T. Mark Chandler, of Greenville; four grandchildren, Geoffrey K. Chandler, Austin C. Egan, Sara Kathryn Egan and Christopher W. Egan; a brother, Roger G. Chandler, and his wife, Peggy Chandler; and a niece, Meredith Chandler. He was preceded in death by a son, Gregory E. Chandler; and a brother, O.W. Chandler Jr.
Memorials may be made to the Cancer Society of Greenville County, 113 Mills Ave., Greenville, SC 29605.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown Chapel, with visitation prior to the service from 2 to 2:50 p.m. The family is at the residence, 264 Stone Lake Drive.
