Catherine Allene Lacy-Clarke

Catherine Allene Lacy-Clarke died Thursday, Nov. 22, 2012, in Grand Rapids, Mich.

She was born on March 18, 1925, in Athens and was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford A. and Sarah Cook Lacy; her siblings and their spouses, Clifford and Margaret and Charles and Ruth; her husbands, Troy A. McDonald and Albert Clarke; one son, Steven McDonald; and one stepson, Craig Clarke.

She was a retired employee of the State of Oklahoma. She attended Cedar Ridge Wesleyan Church and enjoyed many years of friendship and fellowship there.

She drew people to her with her love, warmth and compassionate heart. Her endearing legacy of faith will live on with her family. We all agree that what she will be remembered for was her genuine love for people.

Survivors include her children and their spouses, Barry and Sharon McDonald, Charles and Janet McDonald and Cathy and Dennis Byerly; two stepdaughters, Sheila Clarke-Johnston and Connie Clarke-Morhiveg; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; several special nieces and special extended family members; and her dear friend, Betty McDonald, who kept careful watch over her when she was living in Oklahoma.

She will return to her beloved Tennessee and rest in peace beside her parents overlooking the peaceful Tennessee mountains.

O'Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Funeral Home of Grand Rapids, Mich., is in charge of arrangements.
