In profound sorrow we announce the passing of Mrs. Frances Mattie Lou (Scott) Akins age 77 of 2 Three Mile Rd. at a local health care facility following an extended illness.

Frances Scott was born March 16, 1935 to Alta Mae Scott she was preceded in death by one son, one great-granddaughter, two brothers, and four sisters.

She leaves to cherish her memories daughters; Shelba Scott, Alta (George) Braziel, Shirley Pope, and a special daughter; Ingrid Akins-Whatley, sons; Andy (Helene) Scott, Allen (Lisa) Akins, Douglas Akins, 19 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren, as well as a village of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and devoted friends.

Home going celebration will be held on Thursday November 1, 2012 at Greater Bethlehem Temple, 401 Nixon Ave. at 1:00 P.M. with the Suff. Bishop Bobby Brazil and other ministers officiating. The body will lie in state at the church from 12:00 noon until service hour. Interment will then follow at Eastview Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6-7 P.M. at Wright Memorial Mortuary. At other times they may be contacted at the residence of her daughter; Shelba Scott, 525 W. 13th Street Apt. 712.
