Mrs. Annie Laura Goodman Sneed,88,of Winston-Salem died Tuesday,Dec.9,2003,at Winston-Salem Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. She was born Dec. 21, 1914. in Washington County, Va., to George Wenton and Mary Catherine Blevins Goodman. Mrs. Sneed was a member of First Pentecostal Holiness Church. She worked for R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. for 16 years and retired from the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County school system as a cafeteria manager following 23 years of service. she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Morris Sneed,Sr.; two sons, Robert Morris Sneed,Jr and Gary Michael Sneed; two brothers,Frank Goodman and Roy Goodman;eight sisters,Mamie Goodman,Lucy Sealey,Cassie Bates,Marykate Holt,Elsie White,Myrtle Goodman,Bessie Sealey, and Sally Looper. Survivors include a grandaughter, Cindy Varnell;three grandsons, Chip Sneed, Gary Sneed, and Jeff Sneed;five great-grandchildren;and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be conducted at 2p.m. Thursday Dec. 11, at Volger & Sons Main Street Chapel by the Rev. Tim Wolfe and the Rev. John Sigmon. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today,Dec. 10,at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association,Forsyth Chapter,P.O. Box 571146, Winston-Salem,NC 27157.
