Military Service Quoted Text:

"The State of Ohio, Scioto County: Before me, Miranda Searl, a Justice of the Peace in and for the county aforesaid, personally came Martha Smith who being duly sworn according to law doeth depose and saith that she was acquainted with George Brock who was a soldier and private in Captain Archibald Morrisons company in the 13th regiment of Kentucky Militia, commanded by Col. Dudley in the War of 1812 with Great Britain.
That said Brock at the time he entered said service as a soldier was a hearty hale able-bodied man and that while in the service aforesaid he received a bruise on the left leg which subsequently became an ulcerous sore and so affected his health that assistance became necessary and was returned from the service aforesaid an invalid unable to produce his subsistence - because of his affirmity of aforesaid.
