Alice J. Alexander, 83, died peacefully on November 26, 2012, at the Urbandale Health Care Center. Alice was born June 10, 1929, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Alfred and Maude Porter. She lived her entire life in Des Moines. She married Gordon Alexander, and worked for many years as a secretary in state government. Alice was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church.
She is survived by her son James (Kathy Byers), and many nieces and nephews and their families.
A visitation will be held 12:30 to 2:00 p.m., on Thursday, November 29, 2012, at Hamilton's Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street, Des Moines. The funeral will follow the visitation at 2:00 p.m., with burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
