Sanford: Myrtle Elizabeth Dalrymple Lafferty, age 81 of Sanford, N.C. died Thursday, March 29,2012 at First Health Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst, N.C.
She was born in Lee County on August 24,1930, to the late John Gordon Dalrymple and Myrtle Cox Dalrymple. She was also preceded in death by husbands, Marvin Mack Coley and Robert Lafferty; a son, Jerry Michael Coley; brothers, Gordon, Jack and Bill Dalrymple; and sisters, Margaret Batchelor and Erma Jones.
She worked for Tyson.
Mrs Lafferty is survived by her daughter, Diane Coley Dowd and husband Mike of Sanford; three grandchildren, Jamie Marie Dowd and husband Sean O'Rourke, Christopher Michael Coley and wife Amanda and Brandon Coley; two great-grandchildren and several neices and nephews.
The family will receive friends Sunday, April 1, 2012 from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. at Bridges-Cameron Funeral. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 P.M. at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Halford Fore officiating.
Burial will follow at Lee Memory Gardens.

This is my sweet sister-in-law that I fell in love with.
She was the sweetest thing and welcomed me into the family when we showed up on their doorstep. We had so much fun talking and learning things from each other. She taught me some recipes that I still use to this day. I kept in touch with Elizabeth over the years. She will always be my sis. Rest in Peace.
