Elizabeth Taub "Dove" was born in about 1769 in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of Johann Georg Taub and Maria Christina Stier. In about 1792, she married Jacob Efird in the Old Dutch Buffalo Creek Meeting House in Cabarrus County, North Carolina. They had eight children, George, Mary, Martin, Jacob John, Daniel, Solomon, Sarah, and Elizabeth. They were prominent citizens in their community. They were also very active in the Religious life of the area. They and their family, as well as Jacob's uncle Martin Ifert "Eaford" and his wife Anna Furler, were some of the founders of Saint Martin's Lutheran Church in Stanly County, North Carolina. Jacob died in late 1744 in Stanly County, the Patriarch of the Efird family in America. Elizabeth Dove died between 1844 and 1850, also in Stanly County, the Matriarch of the Efird Family in America. They are both buried in the Efird Family Cemetery in Oakboro, Stanly County, North Carolina.
