Robert C. Beltrone, known better as Bob, Bobby, Dad or Grandpa, went to be with his Lord and Savior during the early morning hours of Friday, September 29, 2006.

Born November 21, 1930, Bob was 75 years old.

After Bob's high school years in Germany, he joined the United States Air Force with over four years of service competing in the lightweight division for boxing. Returning from Europe, he married Laverne Petznick. Together they raised six children living in Appleton, Pewaukee, Milwaukee, and Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. Bob worked for General Electric, retiring after 35 years and moving to Florida. Bob then made Kerrville, Texas, his home with Laverne and son Bill and family for the past eight years.

Bob was always involved with his community, coaching American Legion Baseball, volunteering at the Chamber of Commerce, AARP, the Veterans Hospital and at the Church. Robert thrived on interacting with others and desired to make an impact on the lives he touched.

He is preceded in death by his father, Robert C. Beltrone Sr.; mother, Adele Ramsey; and grandson, Benjamin Garcia.

He is survived by his wife, Laverne Beltrone of Kerrville, Texas; his children and their families, Debbie and Gregg Schwalbe, Victoria, Lenny and Danny Garcia, Kathy, Michael, Nick and Chris Messenger, Bob and Sue Beltrone, Greg, Carol, Vincent and Anthony Beltrone, and Bill, Donna, Leah and Allison Beltrone; great-grandchildren, Matthew, Tyler, Jordon, Zachary and Tyanna Messenger; and a foster child, Tina Rosenburg and Jaydon.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, October 2, 2006, at Kerrville Funeral Home Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Notre Dame Catholic Church at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2006. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery.
