Nadine Rafferty Mills married Emery Mills on Nov. 21, 1941, in Silverton. She lived most of her life in Tulia, where she raised her family. For the last 10 years, she resided in Midland to be near her son, Larry, after living for six years in Amarillo. She was a member of the Methodist church. An accomplished country artist, her paintings helped make our world a more beautiful place. She was proudest of being a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She had numerous close friends, some of whom she had known for 70 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Maynard and Mayme Rafferty; 2 brothers, Mickey and Scott Rafferty and her husband.
Survivors include three children, Sydney Vail of Rockwall, widow of Stephen Vail, formerly of Binghamton, N.Y., Larry Mills of Midland and Linda O'Hara and husband, James, of Santa Fe, N.M.; three grandsons, Kevin Janak of Houston, Adrian and Emily Mills of Dallas and Anthony and Annamaria Mills of Midland; three great-grandchildren, Ethan and Fisher Mills of Dallas and Madeline Zsuzsi Mills of Midland; a sister-in-law, Frances House of Odessa; and a niece, Susan Richardson and husband, Reuben, of Midland; and several other nieces, nephews and cousins.
