Gusta Tina NOWACK was born 23 August 1867 in Rock Island, Rock Island County, Illinois. She was the daughter of Christopher NOWACK and Mary Elizabeth GREGER. She was the 4th of 6 children.
At age 6, Gusta was taken by the Cherrington/Charitan family to be a servant and renamed Minnie.
Gusta married George Morgan CHATFIELD on 13 April 1890 in St Joseph, Buchanan County, Missouri. George was the son of Horace Franklin CHATFIELD and Jane ROWELL. He was born 12 June 1851 in Roxbury, Washington County, Vermont.
Gusta and George had three children:

---- Leona Margaret (1896 – 1973)
---- Henry Marshall (1900 – 1962)
George died 27 February 1910 in St Joseph, Buchanan County, Missouri.
Gusta was reunited with her siblings in 1916.
Gusta died 20 August 1959 in Wamego, Pottawatomie County, Kansas.
