༻✿ Steven Michael Stockton was the son of Owen "O.D." and Mildred Sterling Stockton, born Cincinnati, Hamilton County, Ohio. He grew up in Amelia, Clermont County, Ohio. Steven married Alicia Florko and enlisted in the air force right out of high school. He was stationed in Rantoul, Illinois. He had planned to have a career in the air force but suffered from a ruptured achilles tendon and received a general discharge.
Known children of Steven and Alicia Florko Stockton:
1) Greg Lee Stockton, born August 20, 1977, Rantoul, Champaign County, Illinois; death September 10, 1977. Little Greg Lee died from SIDS.
2) Steven Michael Stockton, Jr., born 1978, Cincinnati, Hamilton County, Ohio. Currently resides in Kansas City, MO.
Due to his general discharge from his injury Steven and Alicia moved back to Amelia, Ohio. With his wife expecting again Steven needed to find employment where he could support his growing family. Having landed a job at GE he, his wife, and a friend went out to eat to a nice restaurant and enjoy the evening. It was a night of heavy rains...
Steven Michael Stockton died tragecally on the night of March 12, 1978 in a car accident on Rt. 132 in Amelia, Ohio. No alcohol was involved. Steve, his wife (pregnant with their second son at the time), and a friend had been out celebrating Steven being hired at General Electric. He was to start work the next day, and was happy he was going to be able to provide well for his beloved wife and their baby on the way. He was very tired so his friend said he would drive them all home. Steve and his wife sat in the back seat where she could get comfortable. It was raining that night and the swishing of the rain lulled the two sweethearts to sleep as they rode home, happy about their good fortune. Steven had his arm across his wife's shoulders. His friend was driving below the speed limit on Rt. 132 as the rain was pouring down in sheets. Visibility was limited. A steep curve was coming up and the driver slowed even more, but rather than the automobile slowing down it hydroplaned on the water that was beginning to flood across the road, as it always had before. As it went the automobile picked up speed from the centrifugal force and the weight of the car. It excelled the speed limit while entering further into the curve which caused them to spin out of control and crash backwards into a telephone poll. The driver survived. Steven died in the accident and it was his love for his wife which saved her life as his arm across her shoulders protected her from the impact. His wife had been in a coma for a time. The baby was born a healthy little boy, Steven's gift to everyone...
We love Steven more each day and the missing him never goes away.

I wish you would have known Steven. He was a unique individual. He was kind, gentle, and fun. He loved life and loved his children very much. He had the most beautiful smile and without saying a word had a way of making everyone feel good. Once he climbed up in a cherry tree and fell out of the tree and broke his arm. We use to call him George Washington and would tell him it was suppose to go the other way around. The cherry tree was suppose to fall onto the ground not him! He would always give us his beautiful smile and laugh. We loved him.
Once when Steven was about 8 years old he was hit by a car and spent an extensive time in the hospital before he was well enough to return home.
May Steven ever be remembered and may he be blessed always in the loving presence of our Lord.
I know you are dancing in the Sunlight in Heaven, Steven.
