Sunday at his home after a long illness.
Services will be at 9:30a.m.Tuesday in the
First Baptist Church with Rev.John Rasco
pastor officiating.
Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens
directed by Hubbard Kelly Funeral home.
Born Oct.24,1900 in Obion, Tenn, he was
married to Bonnie Lasley on Oct.24,1921,
in Troy,Tenn.,and they came to Odessa in
March 1955 from Augusta, Georgia.
He was a member of the First Baptist
Church and the Lions Club.He was also
one of the organizers of the Alabama
Sight Conservation in Birmingham, Ala.
Survivors include his widow of the home;
a son, Gene E.Hurt of Odessa; a brother,
Byron Hurt of Okolona,Miss; a grandson,
Paul David Hurt of Odessa;a granddaughter,
Cathy Roswell of Long Beach,Calif.;and
two great grandchildren.
