JACOB "JAKE" F. KEEFER
"Jacob 'Jake' F. Keefer, age 72, died April 26, 2003 at Banner Churchill Community Hospital. Mr. Keefer was born Feb. 20, 1931 in Eldorado Springs, MO. to John & Melinda (Harvey) Keefer. Jake graduated from Eldorado Springs High School. He went into the U.S. Navy in December of 1949, and was stationed at Alameda Naval Air Station, where he served on the USS Kearsarge and also at Fallon Naval Air Station. At the time of his discharge, he was part of a helicopter anti-submarine squadron in San Ysidro, Cal. Jake worked for Fallon Naval Air Station as a planner-estimator for over 25 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Ike and Clinton Keefer. He is survived by his wife, Geneva (Fowler) Keefer; daughter and son-in-law Melinda and David Clifton; son and daughter-in-law, Ray and Debbie Bullock; grandchildren, Beckie, Cody, Lacie, and Monty; several nieces and nephews, all of Fallon; and brother and sister-in-law, Virgin and Evelyn Keefer of Kansas City, Kan.
There will be no services per his request. The family wishes donations be made in his memory to Meals-On-Wheels, c/o Churchill County Senior Center, 310 Court St. Fallon, NV 89406 or the Churchill County Volunteer Fire Dept., 20 N. Carson St., Fallon, NV 89406.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Gardens Funeral Home."
