Gunnery Sergeant Walter J. Celestin passed away on Tuesday, November 13, 2012 in St. Cloud, Minnesota at the age of 63. A native of St. James, LA., Walter was a member of the United States Marine Corps, Serving 23 years of active duty and 7 years as a member of the United States Marine Corps Reserve.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Celestin; three sons and a daughter in law, Tevis and Synica Celestin, Reginald Celestin and Quintin Celestin; four grandchildren, LaQuan, Janie, Syneeka and Quintin, Jr.; his siblings and their spouses, Brettaiene, Andrew and Joyce, Michael and Trina, Teresa and Redell, Miquelle, Colleen and Kevin, Gretchen and David, Faith and Floyd and a brother-in-law Eddie Schonberg, Jr., aunts, uncles and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Walter was preceded in death by his father and mother, Willie and Edna Celestin, a sister Shavonne C. Schonberg, brother-in-law, Stanley Meno, great niece, Kensey Olivia Joseph, other relatives and many marines that have gone before him.
